Survivor grateful for free pet grooming

This has been a long time coming; this special lady needs to be given great appreciation.

In 2005, after completing radiation treatments, after losing everything, I was feeling pretty down. One day, my landlord noticed that my little dog needed her nails trimmed, but I told him I had no way of getting her anywhere, much less paying for it, so he offered to take her to his groomer. When he returned, he told me that it was no charge and that from now on there would be no charge.

Vickie, the owner of Groomingdales on Prospect Road, offered nail trims to my little dog anytime, at no charge. And to this day, I have not been charged for this service. In fact, she has given me ideas and assistance with my little dog anytime I have stopped by with questions.

This stranger, with a huge heart, has turned out to be a friend that I admire greatly.

Thank you, Vickie, for bringing a smile to a then stranger’s face when I truly needed it. From one survivor to another.
