A DOG groomer who set up shop in her parents’ garage can continue pampering pooches after receiving planning permission.
Linsey Butcher, 34, started Absolutely Barking in March and transformed half of her parents’ garage into a dog grooming salon.
The room features a grooming table, dog cages and a dog bath and the garage also has a new door complete with a window.
North Hertfordshire District Council discovered in April that the salon, based in London Road, Hitchin, did not have planning permission and retrospective permission was applied for by Ms Butcher’s parents, Joyce and David, because it was their property
The couple applied, citing the business was being run by their daughter who wanted to know whether it would be successful enough prior to her taking on the expense of rented premises.
The application met with some resistance with one neighbor saying there was insufficient infrastructure in place to deal with an increase in traffic, among other objections.
