Pampering pets brings big business

When Bubba’s first owner couldn’t take care of him, he ended up & as so many dogs do &at the pound. He was rescued by a truck driver named T.J. and spent the next year or so on the open road.

Unfortunately T.J. passed away, and the 22-pound lhasa Apso/cocker spaniel mix then went to live with Dallas Cunningham and her husband John Cote, where he has been pampered ever since.

“T.J. wanted us to have him,” said Cunningham, who admits she was not too crazy about dogs until Bubba won her over.

“He’s got toys spread all over the house,” Cunningham said. “He’s got three beds in the house.”

Bubba, who has long, tan and cream hair, is just one of the many regular customers at My Dog’s Heaven on Broadway in Tooele
